Shaena Robinson Receives Female Athlete of the Year

The Marshalltown Community College Athletic Department announced its Female Athlete of the Year at the Student Senate Honors & Recognition Reception on Wednesday, April 25. MCC Athletic Director, Kathleen Brown, honored sophomore Shaena Robinson as the Female Athlete of the Year.

"She works really hard at whatever she involves herself in, and it results in successful outcomes," stated MCC Athletic Director Kathleen Brown. "Her positive and caring demeanor has been a bright spot in our department since she stepped foot on campus last year. Because of her work ethic and attitude, she will continue to excel in whatever she chooses to do both during the remainder of her college career as well as in the future."

Robinson capped off an incredible freshman season being named a NJCAA 2nd Team All-American.  She entered 2018 as a Fastpitch News Preseason All-American and has played well enough to earn an All-American nod as a sophomore. This season she had recorded 50 hits with her 115 at bats, brought in 41 runs and smashed 16 homeruns. Shaena has received multiple Division I offers and will decide between UNLV, Bowling Green, and Northern Colorado in the coming weeks.
