Ashley Frantz Hired as Assistant Softball Coach

Marshalltown Community College Head Softball Coach, Dominic Ellis, announced the hiring of Ashley Frantz as the teams assistant coach on Friday. Frantz brings multiple years of coaching experience to Marshalltown, and has known Coach Ellis for a long time, having both worked in the athletic department at Saydel High School.

"I'm excited to hire an assistant coach with great knowledge and passion for the game," stated Ellis. "I think Ashley will bring a lot of energy to the program and feel she will fit into this role nicely."

Frantz has been coaching softball at Saydel Middle School since 2011. While she enjoys coaching softball, she has also been highly involved with other sports, coaching volleyball for three years and taking control of the 8th grade men's and women's basketball teams.

Frantz also sits on the Saydel High School Booster Club and serves as the clubs Chairwomen of the Saydel Athletic Softball Tournament. Frantz is also involved with youth softball, serving as Chief Player Agent for North Des Moines Girls Softball.

"I'm excited to get my feet wet at this level," stated Frantz. "I've known Coach Ellis for a while now and I can't wait to bring a little life to the program. After meeting the team, I feel we have the right people and resources around us to be able to make this team competitive within this conference."
