The MCC Women's Basketball Team's (11-20, 6-10) season came to a close, falling to host Iowa Central Community College (22-8, 12-4) 80-49, in their first round on the Region XI tournament.

The Tigers went to the locker room, down at halftime 43-22. The Tritons ignited for an 18-0 run in the first four minutes of play to put the game out of reach early.

The Tigers were led offensively by sophomore duo Mady Van Metre (Marshalltown, IA) and Latrice McMullen (Waterloo, IA). Van Metre connected for 14 points, followed by 12 from McMullen. Fellow sophomore Shantal Tobler (Green Cove Springs, FL) pulled down a team high 5 boards for MCC.

Iowa Central will move on to face DMACC in the Semifinals Friday night in Keokuk. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 pm.
