John Wood hands MCC first loss of the season

Moberly, MO—The Marshalltown Community College women's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season on Friday night, falling 63-56 to John Wood Community College on the opening day of the Moberly Area Community College Tournament. Jasmin Howe (Millicent, Australia/Millicent) scored a team-high 16 points in the losing effort.

MCC was able to get to the free throw line 18 times in the first half, hitting 15 from the stripe, but managed to shoot just 3-4 in the second half.

Salgado finished the game with 13 points while Sieck reached double-figures for the first time in her career, scoring 11 on the night.

The Tigers will take on Southeastern Illinois Community College at 3:00 PM tomorrow on the final day of the tournament.
