For the second time this season sophomore Mackenzie Gott's (Oskaloosa, IA/Oskaloosa) defensive efforts have been recognized by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC). The Marshalltown Community College women's basketball player was honored as this week's Defensive Player of the Week.

Gott led the Tigers to a 1-1 week to help MCC improve its season record to 10-2. The sophomore opened up the week by grabbing a career-high 15 rebounds in a 70-61 victory over Ellsworth Community College for the team's first ICCAC win of the year. Gott helped lead a furious comeback in the second half for the Tigers, scoring 13 of her 19 points and pulling down eight rebounds in the final 20 minutes.

Gott recorded her 10th double-digit scoring effort of the year with 15 points a loss to No. 14 Iowa Central Community College on Saturday afternoon.

The sophomore now has seven double-doubles on the year and ranks second in the conference with 10.2 rebounds per contest. Gott also ranks ninth in the conference with 15.2 points per game.
