Williams-Perry, Rodriguez each collect third ICCAC honor

Freshmen Courtney Williams-Perry (Milwaukee, WI/Bradley Tech) of the Marshalltown Community College women's  basketball team and Mike Rodriguez (Boston, MA/Redemption Christian Academy) of the men's basketball team have both earned their third Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Player of the Week honor this season.

Williams-Perry was named Co-Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 2 on the women's side after 12.5 rebounds per game as the Tigers went 1-1 last week. The freshman forward grabbed 11 rebounds in a 68-41 loss to NJCAA Division I Iowa Western on Wednesday. Williams-Perry recorded her second career double-double in a 67-53 win over Ellsworth on Saturday, producing 11 points and 14 rebounds. The rookie has recorded five straight double-digit rebounding games prior to this week.

Rodriguez also landed his third ICCAC accolade, named the men's Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 2 after averaging 21.0 points per game last week. The Tigers suffered two losses, but Rodriguez continued to lead the MCC offense, scoring 25 points against nationally ranked Iowa Western Community College, his sixth 20-point game on the year, and added 17 against Southeastern Community College, his 13th straight game with double-digit points.
