2014 Women's Basketball Summer Camps
Marshalltown Community College women's basketball head coach Steve Garber will host a series of basketball camps throughout the upcoming summer months. All camps will be held at the Student Activity Center on the MCC campus.
The program will provide a shooting camp on Saturday, June 7 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM for athletes in grades 9-12. The cost of the camp is $40 per camper. The camp will focus on shooting form and technique.
On Saturday, June 14, the Tigers will host a post camp for athletes in grades 9-12, zeroing in on footwork, offensive moves, and an array of drills. The camp will run from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and will cost $40 per camper.
A four-day Development Camp will run from July 7-10 and will be available for both grade school athletes and high school players. Athletes in grades 6-8 will take part in the camp from 8:30 AM- 12:00 PM each day while players in grades 9-12 will work from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM. The camp will focus on fundamentals, basketball concepts, and team play. The cost of the four-day camp will be $120 per camper.
A final two-day Open Camp will run from July 21- July 22. The camp for grade school girls (grades 6-8) will run from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM while the camp for high school girls will run from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM each day. Players will receive instruction on fundamentals, basketball concepts, and 3-on-3 team play. The cost of the camp is $25 per camper.
Along with the series of camps, Garber will host open gym nights at 6:00 PM every Monday through June 30 for girls in grades 6-8 and every Tuesday night for high school girls in grades 9-12 through June 17 at the Student Activity Center. The cost to attend is $10 per night.
