Former Marshalltown Community College women's basketball player Mackenzie Gott (Oskaloosa, IA/Oskaloosa) signed her National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Waldorf College on Wednesday morning, committing to play for head coach Denny Jerome.

Gott ranked second on the team in 2013-14 in points per game (13.7) and rebounds per game (8.5), despite missing five games midway through the season due to an injury. For her career, Gott recorded 613 points and 460 rebounds in 50 games, making 45 starts at the forward position.

MCC head coach Steve Garber was pleased to see Gott take her talent to the next level. "Our goal at MCC is to move our players on to the next level in finding good fits for them after their Marshalltown experience," said Garber.

"Mackenzie found a very good fit for her at Waldorf to move up to another level of competition. The Warriors will be getting a very hard worker that is consistent in the post in rebounding and scoring to help them achieve success of their own as we did here at MCC."

Gott was a two-time All-Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) selection, a second-team pick as a freshman and third-team choice during her final year. Gott was also named to the first-team Academic All-Region squad and a second-team honoree as a freshman.

Gott also shined on the softball diamond during her career at MCC as well as the sophomore was a first-team All-ICCAC pick this past season.

Waldorf posted an 8-19 record in 2013-14, including a 6-8 mark in the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference. Jerome will be entering his 42nd season at the helm of the Warriors. Waldorf assistant Katie Schutjer is a former MCC women's basketball player, suiting up for the Tigers from 2006-2008 where she was a first-team All-Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) and first-team Academic All-Region selection
