Head coach Steve Garber locked up 5'2" point guard Sammie Sproul for the 2014-15 Marshalltown Community College women's basketball season after receiving a commitment from the Waterloo West High School assist leader.

Sproul, originally signed to play at Iowa Central Community College, inked a Letter of Intent to join the Tigers for the upcoming campaign. Sproul led all Iowa high school 5A participants in assists in 2013-14 with a 6.1 average, a full assist more than any other player.

"Sammie will provide the stability and consistency at the point guard position to lead this year's team," said Garber. "Her energy and high basketball IQ is a much needed quality to run our program of which the other players can feed off of in pursuing our team's success."

While controlling the offensive end from the point guard position for the Wahawks, Sproul also contributed defensively, leading all 5A participants with 94 total steals. Sproul was named to the MVC All-Division Second-Team as a senior.
