Tigers roll past William Penn JV on the road

Oskaloosa, IA—Jasmin Howe (Millicent, Australia, Millicent) scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Marshalltown Community College women's basketball team to a 69-53 win over William Penn JV on the road Monday night. The Tigers improve to 15-11 on the year.

Howe joined Ilsie Calles (Van Nuys, CA/Fulton Prep) and Sammie Sproul (Waterloo, IA/Waterloo West) in double-figures. Calles scored 13 points to go along with six rebounds while Sproul added 11 points, six rebounds, six assists, and four steals in the win.

Howe and Calles both went 6-7 at the free throw line as the Tigers shot 19-24 overall at the stripe. JeAnn Hiraldo (Ames, IA/Ames) grabbed a team-high nine rebounds with five coming on the offensive end.

The Tigers return home on Wednesday night to take on John Wood Community College as part of Play 4 Kay night. All ticket proceeds, along with sales from Breast Cancer Socks ($10.00) will go directly to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Tickets to Wednesday's game is $6.00.

Kay Yow was a former North Carolina State women's basketball coach and Naismith Hall of Fame inductee who passed away in 2009 from breast cancer. The Kay Yow Cancer fund has generated $3.93 million since its inception.
