2015-16 MCC Women's Basketball Schedule

The Marshalltown Community College Women's Basketball team has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2015-16 season. The Tigers open up the year at home at 7:00 PM on Nov. 3 against William Penn JV.

Coming off of a 17-14 season in 2014-15, the Tigers are entering their second season as a member of the NJCAA Division I after making the switch last season. MCC will host 16 home games at the Student Activity Center, including a pair of tournaments.

After prepping for the season with a series of scrimmages and jamborees in late October, the Tigers welcome William Penn JV for the season-opener. On Nov. 6-7, the Tigers travel to Moberly, MO for the Moberly Tournament, taking on St. Louis Community College and Mineral Area College, a pair of teams that upended MCC in 2014-15.

Following the road trip, the Tigers will host the Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel Classic at the Student Activity Center. MCC welcomes Mount Mercy JV at 5:00 PM on Thursday, Nov. 12 and Little Priest Tribal College at 3:00 PM on Saturday, Nov. 14. Mount Mercy JV and Little Priest will square off on Friday, Nov. 13.

The following weekend brings the Emerson Classic to Marshalltown for the second straight year. This year's opponents for MCC will be Missouri Valley JV at 7:00 PM on Friday, Nov. 20 and Mineral Area at 4:00 PM on Saturday, Nov. 21.

MCC's next three games will be on the road against the likes of Ellsworth Community College on Nov. 24 and the Southeastern Tournament on Nov. 27-28. Four of the team's six games in December will be at home, including the final two games of the first half of the season against Southeastern (Dec. 14) and Iowa Lakes (Dec. 16)

2016 opens at home against Des Moines Area Community College on Jan. 5. Four of the team's next five games will be on the road, including at John Wood Community College (Jan. 9) and Little Priest Tribal College (Jan. 13).

Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) play tips-off at home for the Tigers on Jan. 23 against Northeast Community College, the defending regular season champions. MCC travels to conference-foe Iowa Western Community College, the defending Region XI Tournament champions, on Jan. 27. On Jan. 17, 2015, the Tigers upset the Reivers, ranked No. 4 and undefeated at the time, at home.

MCC travels to Northeast for a conference contest on Feb. 13. The regular season home finale is slated for 6:00 PM on Feb. 16 against Grand View JV. The regular season wraps up on the road for MCC at Iowa Western on Feb. 20.

This year's Region XI Tournament First Round is scheduled for Feb. 24, while the championship is set for Feb. 27.
