Second half goes against MCC as Tigers fall to Moberly Area

Moberly, MO—The Marshalltown Community College Women's Basketball team dropped its second straight game at the Moberly Area Community College Tournament, falling 51-36 to the host Greyhounds. Sophomore JeAnn Hiraldo (Ames, IA/Ames) led the Tigers with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

MCC (3-1) stayed in contention early as Moberly Area (2-1) took a 17-12 lead after the first quarter. Both teams went point for point in the second quarter as each side scored 13 points. The Greyhounds led 30-25 at halftime. It was the third quarter that did the Tigers in as Moberly Area outscored MCC 11-2 in the frame to pull away.

Freshman Shyannon Wolf (Tama, IA/Meskwaki) contributed 10 points on the day after knocking down two three-point shots. Barbara Araoz (Neuquen, Argentina/Maria Auxiliadota) added seven points and five rebounds.

Hiraldo has scored in double-figures in all three games this season and is averaging 16.7 points and 12.7 rebounds per contest for the Tigers.

The Tigers host the Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel Classic at the Student Activity Center Nov. 12-14. MCC will host Mounty Mercy JV at 5:00 PM on Nov. 12 and Little Priest Tribal College at 3:00 PM on Nov. 14.
