Hiraldo records double-double in road loss

Oskaloosa, IA—Sophomore JeAnn Hiraldo (Ames, IA/Ames) posted her eighth double-double of the year, but the Marshalltown Community College Women's Basketball team fell on the road to William Penn JV 65-49 Tuesday night.

Hiraldo scored 15 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, 13 coming on the defensive end, to lead the Tigers. For the second straight game, freshman Barbara Araoz (Neuquen, Argentina/Maria Auxiliadota) scored 13 points after knocking down seven of eight free throw attempts on the night.

Victoria Pothast (Melbourne, IA/West Marshall) connected on three three-point shots to finish with nine points while Shyannon Wolf (Tama, IA/Meskwaki) and Samuari Jones (Louisville, KY/Seneca) added eight and four points, respectively.

MCC opens up Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) play at home on Saturday night when Northeast Community College comes to town for a 5:00 PM matchup as part of a doubleheader with the MCC Men's Basketball team who host the Hawks at 7:00 PM in the Student Activity Center.
