The Marshalltown Community College Women's Basketball team has added Kiana Weston of Niles North High School located in Chicago, IL.

Under head coach Dan Paxson, Weston helped guide the Vikings to a 14-10 record during the 2015-16 season. Weston is a 5-10 forward who averaged over four rebounds per game as a senior.

Paxson described Weston as a passionate leader on the court. "Kiana was probably our most vocal and energetic kid on the floor every game. She played with energy and heart. Her low post defense was solid, tough, and assertive and often guarded kids in the low post that were taller than her. I don't think we ever lost a game due to poor low post defense."

Weston will add more depth to MCC head coach Steve Garber's core group of post players. "We recruited Kiana as a low post presence to offset opponents post players and solidify some inside stability with defense and rebounding," Garber stated. "Her offensive skill set will be developed through hard work throughout the season."

Weston joins Sarah Kavanh, Alyssa Roth, Ryan Roberts, and Loralei Siliga in the 2016-17 signing class for the Tigers.
