The MCC athletic department is pleased to announce the women's basketball team has signed its first 2018 recruit. Carla Collado will be a Tiger next season after committing early this week. Callado is a point guard from Barcelona, Spain who will study either nursing or athletic training while at Marshalltown Community College.
"Carla will fill the void for the next two years when Claudia Morente' graduates" stated Head Coach Steve Garber. "Carla can play the point guard position as well as the off-guard position".
Collado's scouting report states she is a great three-point shooter and is an intense defensive presence, which will be welcomed in the Tiger locker room. The report also states she is a good passer with good court vision, which is necessary to be an effective point guard. Collado has spent the last four years playing on top tier teams in Spain and will be a great addition to the MCC women's basketball team.
