Women's Basketball Struggle at Iowa Central

The MCC women's basketball team traveled to Fort Dodge, Iowa on Saturday afternoon to take on the Tritons of Iowa Central Community College. Both teams have had an up and down season so far, with the Tigers entering the game 5-7 and the Tritons coming in with a 5-6 record. In a one sided game the Tigers would fall 75-43.

The women's basketball team struggled all game long and was unable to get ball to drop, as the team finished shooting 27.5% from the field. Alyssa Roth would have a productive day for the Tigers as she went 4-6 from the field, 3-4 from the three-point line, and 4-6 from the free throw line totaling 15 points. Loralei Siliga would go 3-9 from the field for seven points as would add nine total rebounds on the day.

The Tritons were able to spread the ball in the 2:00 matchup as five Iowa Central players finished with nine points or more. Megan Axcell and Leah Robinson led the way for the Tritons as each would add 10 points with Awel Ajak, Mackenzie Jenkins, and Tinee'sha Coleman each finishing with nine points a apiece.

The 5-8 Tigers will come back home to play Monday when they host Southeastern Community College in the Student Activity Center at 5:30.
