The MCC athletic department is pleased to announce that Ashly Gassoway has signed a Letter of Intent to play for the MCC women's basketball team next season. Gassoway is currently a senior at Waukee High School playing for the 4-0 Warriors. The Warriors have seen success in recent years going 17-6 in 2015-16, 18-5 in 2016-17 and now again starting the season 4-0 and will be a tough team come tournament time.
Head Coach Steve Garber had high praise for the new addition to the Tiger family stating, "Ashly will give us flexibility to play her in a variety of positions, including the wing and post area. She has athletic ability to put the ball on the floor and has defensive abilities to play as a perimeter player as well as the post. With expectations to shoot from the perimeter, she will add a multitude of skills to our program."
Gassoway's next game will be Tuesday (12/12) when the Warriors host Fort Dodge and she will take the court again on Friday (12/14) when Ames High School travels to Waukee. The Tigers will be back in action on Wednesday (12/13) when they host the Lakers of Iowa Lakes Community College. The 5-9 Tigers will look to get back in the win column against the 2-9 Lakers at 5:30 in the Student Activity Center.
