Tigers Defeat Warriors 74-57

The women's basketball team hosted the Warriors of Little Priest Tribal College in the Student Activity Center on Wednesday night. The 5-12 Warriors have struggled as of late, dropping their last four contest. Wednesdays game was the second time the two teams played as the women had previously defeated the Warriors 67-57 at home in November. The Tigers would see the same success as they defeated the Warriors 74-57.

The Tigers shad three players in double digits with Alyssa Roth leading the way with 22 points , Loralei Siliga would score 20 points and grab nine rebounds in her first game back from injury and Claudia Morente would score 14 points.

"Alyssa has been playing solid fundamental basketball the last few weeks," stated Head Coach Steve Garber. "She went 8-11 from the field and she continues to make good decisions with the ball. Hopefully she continues to play like this the rest of the season."

Sarah Kavanh would struggle shooting going 3-11 but was force under the basket grabbing 10 hard fought rebounds. Shanterra Waters played well in her increased playing time after break, adding four points and Anna Jaumandreu would add three more for the Tigers. Little Priest's Talia Paytiamo put up 18 points leading all Warriors on the day. Kayla Albo would go 3-9 from the field for the Warriors and 2-2 from the free throw line for 10 points

The Tigers will be back in action Friday, January 19 when they travel to Seward, Nebraska to take on Concordia College JV. The women's basketball team will be back in the Student Activity Center on Saturday, January 27 when they host Northeast Community College.
