Alyssa Roth Named MCC's Female Athlete of the Month

The MCC Athletic Department is pleased to announce that Alyssa Roth has been named MCC's Female Athlete of the Month. Roth is a sophomore guard on the MCC women's basketball team. Over the last month the women's basketball team have competed in eight games, compiling a 3-5 record. Roth has had an outstanding month, averaging 16.9 points per game. Her efficient shooting led to her being named ICCAC Division I Women's Athlete of the Week from January 15-22. Roth would end the month shooting 47% from the field while shooting 38% from beyond the three-point arc.

The month was highlighted by two victories against Central Community College and Little Priest Tribal College. Roth took control in both games and led the team in scoring with 22 points apiece.

"Alyssa has seen great improvement since the holiday break," stated Head Coach Steve Garber. "This last month has been some of the best basketball I've seen from her."

Roth and the rest of the women's basketball team get back on the hardwood Thursday, February 1 when they take on the William Penn JV squad. The Tigers will look to avenge an early season loss as they fell to William Penn JV back on November 1, 68-46.
