Alyssa Roth Earns ICCAC Athlete of the Week

Marshalltown Community College's Alyssa Roth has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week for her play from February 12-18. Roth has played well all season, averaging 13.5 points per game, which ranks second in the conference only behind fellow Tiger, Loralei Siliga. Roth played in three games last week, scoring 47 points shooting 45% from the field. Roth currently has the seventh most rebounds in the conference, bringing down 22 just last week.

"Alyssa has been great since the holiday break and has stepped up her game these last few weeks," stated Head Coach Steve Garber. "This is her second Athlete of the Week and her play and work ethic reflects that."

Roth and rest of the women's basketball team will take the hardwood Friday night, when they travel to Norfolk, Nebraska for their final conference game of the season against the Hawks of Northeast Community College. The Hawks have had an impressive season, going 22-4 with only Friday's game remaining before the Regional Tournament. The Tigers dropped their first game with the Hawks 67-43 in the Student Activity Center back in January.
