The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) announced the All-Region selections for Division I basketball Tuesday afternoon. Marshalltown Community College's Loralei Siliga was named 1st Team All-Region. Siliga led all ICCAC Division I players in scoring this season, scoring 513 points in her sophomore campaign. The go to player for the Tigers this season, Siliga was named ICCAC Athlete of the Week three times.
"Loralei stepped up this year in a leadership role and followed suit with her play," stated Head Coach Steve Garber. "She evolved significantly as a person and a player to lead the conference in scoring and making a name for herself among region schools and into the 4-year universities for her next step of competition."
An efficient shooter, the 5'10 forward shot 43.1% from the field and 74% from the free throw line as a sophomore. A dominant presence on the court, Siliga was not afraid to get physical and it showed in her ability to bring down rebounds, grabbing a team leading 206 this season. Siliga has been highly recruited, and plans to continue her playing career but with multiple offers at the Division I, Division II, and NAIA levels, she is unsure where she wants to go.
