Women's Basketball Adds Laurin Lyons

The MCC women's basketball team has signed Green County High School's Laurin Lyons for the 2018 school year. Lyons is a well-rounded athlete, participating in basketball, track, softball and volleyball throughout high school. While in high school she saw success in multiple sports, the 5'8 shooting guard was a two time state qualifier in softball, track, and speech while also being named All-Conference in basketball three times.

"Laurin will give us a good sized player to shoot from the perimeter in the guard spot," stated Head Coach Steve Garber. She has good court vision and has experience in playing multiple positions while in high school.  She has some ball-handling skills that will help her develop more offensive skills as well.  Her work ethic and competitive nature will help her successfully compete at the college level".

While at MCC Laurin plans to study elementary education with the goal of becoming a special education teacher. Laurin is the daughter of Lova and Dean Lyons and younger sister to Eliza, Brock and Aaron Lyons.
