Women's Basketball Signs Nyadholi Deng

Head women's basketball Coach, Steve Garber, announced Monday morning the addition of Nyadholi Deng to the Tiger basketball team for the 2018-19 season. Deng played her High School basketball at Des Moines North, finishing 4-16-1 overall and 4-5-1 in the Central Iowa Metropolitan League (CIML). Deng lead the Polar Bears statistically, averaging 10 points per game and grabbed 7.5 rebounds per game.

"With the addition of Nyadholi, we are adding a wing slasher that is strong to the basket," stated Head Coach Steve Garber". "Only having played basketball for a few years, her learning curve will allow her to excel in our program.  She has great potential to be a threat to our outside game in developing outside scoring and penetration to the basket that will be difficult to handle.  I look forward to working with Nyadholi in watching her evolve into a dynamic factor for our women's basketball program".

Deng is another versatile athlete in this year's recruiting class, playing both power forward and shooting guard in her senior season, earning 2nd Team All-Conference honors. The 5'8 forward was also named her team's 2018 Outstanding Player and voted the Polar Bear's Most Dedicated Player.
