Alyssa Roth Signs with Hastings College

 Another women's basketball player has decided to take her talents to the four-year level as sophomore, Alyssa Roth, has signed her National Letter of Intent to play at Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska.  Roth was a dynamic player for the Tigers, finishing second in the ICCAC in scoring with 13.1 points per game while also grabbing 5.2 rebounds per game. The 5-7 guard from Clinton, Iowa provided consistent scoring for the Tigers, shooting 41.6% from the field and 35.5 % from behind the three-point arc.

"After spending two years at MCC, Alyssa has worked her way into an excellent opportunity to continue her basketball experiences at a very successful program at Hastings," stated Head Women's Basketball Coach, Steve Garber. "Her ability to provide scoring from the wing area will be a strength that Alyssa brings to the floor to help continue Hastings success for the next two years.  We will look for good things from Alyssa moving forward into her new environment."

Roth will enter a winning program under 6th year Head Coach, Jina Douglas. In Douglas' first five seasons, the Broncos have recorded a 120-44 record while competing in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). The Broncos finished with a 26-7 overall record in the 2017-18 season, going 15-5 in the GPAC and making it to the Quarterfinals of the NAIA National Tournament.

"I just want to thank MCC for everything they have done to put me in the position to play at the next level," stated Roth. "I'd like to thank Coach Garber for helping me grow as a player and a person these past two years. I am very excited about playing for Hastings under Coach Douglas and her staff. I look forward to the future opportunities I will have being there as a student."
