Stokes and Solsona land on ICCAC All-Region Teams

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference has named Dana Stokes 1st Team All-Region and Clara Solsona to the Honorable Mention team for their efforts on the hardwood this season. Stokes, a freshman from Chicago, IL, was a consistent presence for the Tigers this year. Averaging 27 minutes per game, she chipped in 9.0 points per game and grabbed 4.2 boards. Often matched against the opposing team's highest offensive threat, Stokes was able to showcase her stingy defense.

"Dana has given us some of the skills needed on both ends of the floor to compete.  Once she realizes the other things she can improve upon, added to her ability to get to the basket with quickness and her on-ball defensive skills, Dana will be continuing to play at the 4-year level after graduating from MCC," Head Coach Steve Garber stated about Stokes.

Solsona, a freshman from Premia de Dalt, Spain, earned the nod after leading the Tigers in most offensive categories including points per game (10.0), field goal percentage (34.0), and three-point field goal percentage (33.8). She also was productive on the glass, averaging 3.2 boards per game.

"Clara has shown improvements in her offensive game in extending the opponents defense due to her 3-point scoring.  She gave us some vocal leadership at the point guard position in running the offenses that we allow our point guards to run, improving throughout the season," Garber said of Solsona.
