Head coach Chris Brees and the Marshalltown Community College volleyball team will host its 2013 summer volleyball camp from July 20-26 at the MCC Student Activity Center. The camp will be split up between three separate age groups and will focus on all aspects of the game.
The first camp will be held for 3rd-5th graders on July 20-21. The first session of each day will begin at 8:30 am and will run until 12:00 pm. The second session for each day will run from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. The cost for the camp is $60 for pre-registered participants and includes a camp t-shirt. Registration at the camp will be $80.
The second leg of the camp will be held for athletes entering 6th-8th grades on July 24-26. Athletes will focus on all skills from 1:00 to 4:00 pm each day. The camp will hold an open gym for all campers each day from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The cost for pre-registered athletes will be $80 with a t-shirt while the cost for registering at the camp will be $100.
The final stretch of the camp will be held for 9th-12th graders from July 24-26. Each day will open up focusing on skills of the game from 8:30 am through 12:00 pm. Athletes will then participate in open gym from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Pre-registration with a t-shirt will be $80 while registration at the camp will be $100.
Each camp will focus on individual skill development with integration of team drills. Athletes will focus on all aspects of the game through guidance from five Division I volleyball players from multiple premier universities. The camps will also be aided by current MCC volleyball players.
Coach Brees is entering his second year at the helm of the Tigers. Brees, a former setter and right side hitter for Clarke College has previous coaching experience at Drake University, Grandview College, and William Penn University.
