Freshman Reeba Box (Liscomb, IA/BCLUW) of the Marshalltown Community College women's volleyball team has been named to the Region XI-B All-Tournament team. The Tigers were eliminated in the first round by No. 1 seed Kirkwood Community College.
Box posted a solid all-around performance for the Tigers in the 3-0 loss to the Eagles. The outside hitter recorded eight kills, 11 digs and two blocks for MCC. Box tallied a series of kills in the third set as the Tigers attempted to make a late rally.
The freshman finished the year ranked fourth on the team in kills, third in digs, and second in blocks while helping the Tigers to a 22-20 record, the team's most wins and first winning season since 2005.
No. 2 seed Southwestern defeated Kirkwood in the Region XI-B Championship to advance to the national tournament.
