Kayla Prosser named ICCAC Offensive Player of the Week

After guiding the Marshalltown Community College volleyball team to four wins last week, freshman Kayla Prosser (Eldora, IA/South Hardin) has been named this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Offensive Player of the Week.

Prosser was an integral part to the Tigers' success over the course of the week, collecting a total of 62 kills to go along with 71 digs. The freshman also recorded nine service aces and seven total blocks at the net as the Tigers went 4-2.

Prosser posted eight kills in a 3-0 win over Grand View JV on Tuesday and came back on Wednesday night to lead the Tigers to a five-set victory over Iowa Lakes Community College. The sophomore recorded four assists in the fifth set to help lead MCC to the win.

Prosser tallied three straight matches of double-digit kills to start the weekend at the Blue Dragon Volleyball Classic in Hutchinson, KS. Prosser tied a personal-best with 17 kills in the opening match against host Hutchinson Community College. In the team's second match on Friday, Prosser recorded her fourth double-double of the year with a career-best 21 digs and 13 kills.

The outside hitter ranks second in the ICCAC with 177 total kills and fourth with 2.72 kills per set. The freshman's .312 hitting percentage ranks third.

The Tigers make the trek back to Kansas this week for a pair of non-conference matches against Barton Community College on Wednesday and Ottawa University on Thursday.
