Volleyball falls 3-0 on the road to Barton CC

Great Bend, KS—The Marshalltown Community College volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of Barton Community College on Wednesday night, dropping the Tigers to 7-11 on the year. Kayla Prosser (Eldora, IA/South Hardin) led the Tigers with 11 kills.

Playing on the road, the Cougars proved to be too much at home, taking down the Tigers in straight sets. Barton took the opening matches 25-14 and 25-15 before finishing off the Tigers 25-20 in the third. After winning six of eight, the Tigers have now dropped two matches in a row.

Prosser, this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Offensive Player of the Week tallied four kills in the opening set and five in the final game, but proved to be not enough as Barton took the match.

Sam Hinrichs (Ankeny, IA/Ankeny) recorded 23 assists and three digs for the Tigers.

MCC will travel to Ottawa University JV tomorrow night at 6:30 PM.
