Eagles handle MCC in straight sets

Cedar Rapids, IA—The Marshalltown Community College volleyball team suffered its fourth-straight loss, falling in straight sets to Kirkwood Community College on Tuesday night, 25-19, 25-19, and 25-23. The Tigers fall to 7-13 on the year.

The Tigers managed to out-hit the Eagles .186 to .179, but 22 return errors proved costly for the Tigers.  MCC registered 35 kills to the Eagles' 37.

Kirkwood, ranked No. 7 in this week's NJCAA Division II Poll, recorded 10 service aces compared to just four for MCC.

Kayla Prosser (Eldora, IA/South Hardin) recorded her 12th double-digit kill game of the season with a game-high 11. Prosser also totaled 12 digs. Riley Clark (Papillion, NE/Papillion La Vista South) recorded a team-high 15 digs.

The Tigers jump right back into action tomorrow night with a road conference match at Iowa Western Community College, ranked No. 1 in the latest NJCAA Division I Poll with a 16-0 record.
