Ellsworth rallies to drop MCC 3-1

Marshalltown, IA—The Marshalltown Community College volleyball team dropped a 3-1 match to the Ellsworth Community College Panthers at the Student Activity Center on Wednesday night. The Tigers took the opening set, but dropped the final three to fall to 10-16 on the year.

The Tigers fell flat in the next three games as the Panthers opened up the second and third sets with early leads and held on for 25-19 and 25-16 victories. MCC jumped out to a 6-2 lead in the fourth, but the Panthers finished off the match with a 23-11 run to seal the victory.

Van Metre tallied a team-high 14 kills on the night. Kayla Prosser (Eldora, IA/South Hardin), this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Player of the Week, posted 11 kills and seven digs.
