Mady Van Metre part of rare 25/25 club

A recent research project from Presto Sports, the website provider of www.mccathletics.com, found that Marshalltown Community College student-athlete Mady Van Metre (Marshalltown, IA/Ames) is part of an exclusive two-sport female athlete club.

Van Metre is believed to be part of just a handful of female athletes that have scored at least 25 points in a basketball game and recorded 25 kills in a volleyball match throughout their career dating back several seasons.

After transferring from Iowa Western Community College, Van Metre played her sophomore season of basketball at MCC during the 2012-13 season where she scored 26 points against North Central Missouri College on Feb. 11 and two games later scored a career-high 29 against Iowa Lakes Community College on Feb. 16.

Van Metre played two seasons of volleyball at MCC, suiting up for head coach Chris Brees in 2012 and finished her MCC career in 2014. Van Metre recorded totals of 37 kills against Allen County Community College on August 25, 2012 and 27 kills on Sept. 14, 2012 against Coffeyville Community College.

The Marshalltown native finished her career with 895 kills and 372 points on the court.
