Jena Boisen joins Tiger volleyball coaching staff

The Marshalltown Community College Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Jena Boisen as the assistant volleyball coach. Boisen, a former member of the Tigers, will assist newly appointed head coach Justin Hoskins.

"We're excited to have someone that is very familiar with the Tiger volleyball program," stated MCC Director of Athletics Dr. Kathleen Brown. "Jena's knowledge and enthusiasm for the game will be an integral asset in helping the program begin a new era."

Boisen was a member of the 2014 team as an outside hitter. During her freshman season, Boisen played in all 45 matches and totaled 123 kills and 375 digs. Boisen suffered a season-ending injury for the 2015 campaign, but her commitment to Tiger volleyball never faded as she returns as a coach for 2016.

"I had a great two years here at MCC and I want to be able to help make the student-athletes enjoy their two years just as much while developing their game," Boisen expressed. "I'm excited for the new challenges of being a collegiate coach."

Boisen has also served as the head coach for the 15u Iowa Heart club volleyball team

Boisen is attending Iowa State University where she is enrolled in the communications program.
