Tigers move to 8-4

The Tiger volleyball team took on the Statesmen from William Penn University Saturday afternoon at 1:00 PM. In a thrilling match, the Tigers trailed partway through and surged in the final minutes to take the first set 25-23. In the second set, the Tigers started fast and held the lead the entire set winning 25-17. The Tigers again started fast but they could not hold off the Statesmen as they were forced into extra points and fell 26-28. In the fourth set the Tigers played with determination taking the set 25-19.

Freshman Outside hitter Jesenia Colbert was excited after the game stating, "We changed our lineup today and I think we were able to speed up and execute our offense better." Coming off a four-match skid the Tigers now move to 8-4 and are trying to continue their recent success.  Colbert added, "It feels good to get a win after four tough losses, this game gave us the momentum we need to get back in our rhythm."

The Tigers will be back in action on Wednesday, the 13th when they take on the Tritons of Iowa Central. The Triton volleyball team is currently 12-1 on the season and ranked 14 in NJCAA Division II volleyball. The match will begin at 7:00 PM in the Student Activity Center on the Marshalltown Community College campus.
