Tigers fall to Iowa Central 3-1

The MCC volleyball team took on the 12-1 Tritons from Iowa Central at 7:00 in the Student Activity Center. The Tigers entered the night 8-4 and feeling good coming off a win against William Penn JV. The first set of the night started slow as neither team could get in a rhythm. Down as much as four points the Tigers kept the score close but dropped the set 22-25. The second set faired much better for the Tigers as they cut down on errors and maintained a lead, the Tigers took the set 25-19. The Tigers started fast in the third set being up as many as six points throughout the set. The Tigers held the lead for the majority of the set but failed to hold off a Triton surge in the final points and dropped the third set 25-27. The fourth set was dominated by the Tritons as they won the set 7-25.

The Tigers will be back in action on Sunday when they travel to Mason City to take on Dakota County Technical College at the NIACC triangular. Dakota County is 4-7 on the season as the Tigers now drop to 8-5.
