Tiger Volleyball moves to 10-5

The Tiger volleyball team traveled to North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City Iowa on Saturday to take on Dakota County Technical College and Ellsworth Community College. Early in the season Marshalltown defeated Dakota County Technical College 3-0, the Tigers also defeated Ellsworth Community College 3-1 and were looking to replicate that success to improve on their 8-5 record. In the first match of the day, the Tigers again defeated Dakota County Technical College in straight sets, 25-16, 25-19, and 25-21. The team then moved on to Ellsworth Community College, where they again won in straight sets, 25-21, 25-16 and 25-19.

"We had some stretches of really good volleyball today," stated head coach Just Hoskins, "we hurt ourselves with unforced errors at times but we always found a way to work through them. If we can ever cut out some of the unforced errors, this team can do some really good things the rest of the season."

The Tigers improve to 10-5 on the season and will look to continue their success on Monday when they host Southeastern Community College. The Blackhawks are 8-8 on the season and 2-1 in the conference. The match will begin at 7:00 PM in the Student Activity Center on the Marshalltown Community College campus.
