Tigers Slip in Conference Match Up

The MCC volleyball team hosted the #3 Reivers of Iowa Western Wednesday night. This would be the second meeting of the season for the two. Early in the season, the Reivers handed the Tigers a 3-0 loss. Coming into the night the 15-7 had won five of their last six matches highlighted by a five set win over Southwestern a week ago. The Reivers were 18-1 coming into the match and have won three straight after dropping their only match of the season.

In the team's second matchup the Reivers took control early and never looked back taking the match in three sets. The Tigers got down early in the first set but battled back into a close set but fell 25-17. The Reivers dominated the second set as they ran away with a 25-10 set win. Again, the Tigers struggled offensively in the third set and dropped the set 25-13.

The Tigers will look to improve on their 15-8 record on Saturday when they travel to Mason City to take part in the NIACC tournament. The team will face Iowa Lakes Community College at 10:00 AM and North Iowa Area Community College at 1:30 PM. The Tigers defeat the Lakers of Iowa Lakes 3-2 and defeated the Trojans of NIACC 3-1 earlier this season.
