Tigers go 1-1 in NIACC Tournament

The MCC volleyball team traveled to Mason City Iowa on Saturday to participate in a tournament on the North Iowa Area Community College campus. The Tigers took on the Lakers of Iowa Lakes Community College in their first match on the day. Earlier in the season, the Tigers traveled to Estherville Iowa to take on the Lakers and defeated then in a thrilling five set match. The Tigers in a three set sweep dominated Saturdays match up, 25-11, 25-23, 25-22.

In the second match of the day, the Tigers took on the Trojans of North Iowa Area Community College. The Tigers had also defeated the Trojans earlier in the season but on this afternoon, the Tigers would not be able to hold off the Trojans. In a heartbreaking five set match, the Tigers came up short and would fall to 16-9 on the season.

The Tigers will be back in action on Thursday when they Travel to William Penn to take on the JV squad. The Tigers defeated the William Penn JV team in early September 3-1. The match will begin at 7:00. The team will be at home next Saturday when they host Grand View University JV at 2:00 and Southeast Community College at 6:00.
