Tiger fall to Warriors 3-1

Wednesday night the MCC volleyball team travelled to Ottumwa to take on the Warriors of Indian Hills. The 23-13 Warriors had previously beaten the Tigers this season. In a very close match, the 18-12 Tigers would fall 3-1 to their conference foe. The Tigers, now down to only seven girls, fought hard and were able to take the first set 25-22 before dropping the second 25-11. The Tigers kept themselves in the match in the third and played well but struggled in the final points resulting in a 25-21 loss. The fourth set saw the Tigers hold the lead before a late surge by the Warriors ended the match with a 25-23 victory.

"Our girls played well tonight but we had a few areas we need to clean up." Stated Coach Hoskins after the match. "I was proud of the way this group of girls fought back in some of the sets, we had chances to score a few points that we let slip. We will continue to work and we will switch our focus to Southeastern on Monday."

The Tigers will travel to Burlington, Iowa to take on the Blackhawks of Southeastern Community College on Monday. This will be the second time the teams will play this season, previously the Blackhawks came out with the win. The match will begin at 7:00 on the Southeastern Community College campus.
