Tigers Stumble Against Southeastern

The MCC volleyball team traveled to Burlington Iowa Monday night to take on the 23-14 Blackhawks of Southeastern Community College. The Tigers and Blackhawks have faced off previously this season with the Blackhawks winning in straight sets. In the second and final match, the Tigers would fall to the Blackhawks in four sets. After the loss, the Tigers move to 18-13 on the season but have lost the last four contest.

"We simply struggled to play well tonight." Stated Head Coach Justin Hoskins after the match. "We had individuals struggle for stretches and as a team, instead of picking each other up, the struggles became contagious. We talked in the locker room and acknowledged that we won't always play our best individually or as a team, but we need to learn how to make a positive contribution even when we're not on our A game. Hopefully we can use tonight as a lesson moving forward and benefit from it in the long run."

The Tigers will try to break their four game streak on Friday when they travel to Fort Dodge to take on the 27-8 Tritons of Iowa Central. Earlier this season Iowa Central defeated the Tigers 3-1. The match will begin at 7:00 pm.
