Tigers end season 20-16

The MCC volleyball team traveled to Council Bluffs, Iowa for the District J Tournament Friday afternoon. The Tigers would take on the Warriors of Indian Hills at 3:00 in the first round on Friday afternoon. Previously this season, the Tigers fell to the Warriors 3-0 and 3-1. Friday afternoon the Tigers would again be defeated by the Warriors 3-1 (18-25, 25-18, 11-25, 24-26).

In the double elimination format, the Tigers would get another chance to advance in the tournament when they took on Vincennes University at 5:00 Friday night. The second match would be the last for the Tiger this season as they dropped the match 3-0 (19-25, 21-25, 16-25).

The Tigers end the season reaching the twenty-win mark, finishing 20-16. In a tough conference that consist of #2 Iowa Western and Indian Hills, the Tigers finished 0-4. The Tigers went 7-5 in home competitions while going 13-11 on road trips. Head Coach Justin Hoskins has improved on last year's 12-22 record with a 20-16 season with an all-freshmen roster. The future looks bright for MCC volleyball under Hoskins and with the freshmen returning for next season, expect the 2018 squad to make some noise this time next year.
