Raquel Gonzales signs with MCC Volleyball

The MCC volleyball team welcomes a new member to the Tiger family as Raquel Gonzales has signed a letter of intent for the 2018 volleyball season. Raquel is the daughter of Victoria and Johnny Gonzales and younger sister to Jonathan and Kevin Gonzales. The 5'5 setter turned heads on the court, playing volleyball and basketball at Centennial High School in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Gonzales saw success in high school, earning 1st Team All Distract honors as a junior and senior, 1st Team All-State honors as a junior, and 2nd Team All-State honors as a senior.

"Rocky gives us a lot of options for next season," stated Head Coach, Justin Hoskins. "She has played at a high level in high school and been very successful running some non-traditional systems. She brings a winning mentality and will instantly increase the competitiveness in our gym."

While at MCC, Gonzales will major in Criminal Justice with hopes of transferring to a four-year university to earn her bachelor's degree. She aspires to be involved with law enforcement with her ultimate goal of working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
