MCC Volleyball Adds Halee Pedro

The MCC volleyball team is one member stronger for the 2018 season as Halee Pedro has committed to play for the Tigers. Halee is the daughter of Leianna and James Pedro, and younger sister to Kylee, Wyatt, and Cade Pedro. Pedro will make the trip to Marshalltown from Kailua, Hawaii where she has participated in canoe paddling and volleyball throughout high school.

Playing outside hitter and libero throughout her high school career Head Coach Justin Hoskins is excited about having her talents at MCC stating, "Halee fits exactly what we're looking for with our program both on and off the court. On the court, she is a versatile player who has the ability to help us in multiple positions. She is selfless and wants to help the team any way that she can. Off the court, she has high character and wants to be part of a program that is family-oriented and supportive. I can't wait until August when we're able to get Halee and the rest of our team on the court together."

When asked why she choose MCC, Pedro stated, "I decided to attend MCC because being from Hawaii, family is important and MCC offered a diverse student body and a comforting coaching staff. It is important when choosing a college, for it to feel as if it is a new home and that is the feeling I had about MCC. Coach Justin was a huge part of this process, and made me feel welcomed to MCC, and he is a big reason I decided to commit to MCC.
