The MCC volleyball team added a new member last week as Tama, Iowa native Sadie Smith committed to joining the team for the 2018 season. Smith is the daughter of Darcey and Travis Smith and older sister to Brayden Smith. Smith adds to a versatile recruiting class, having earned All-Conference honors in volleyball and basketball as well as being named captain of the soccer team.

"Sadie is a perfect example of local talent who can help us compete at a high level," stated Head Coach Justin Hoskins. "She has a quick arm and has some good pop on the ball. I'm looking forward to having her in our lineup."

A four-sport athlete at South Tame High School, Sadie participated in volleyball, basketball, track, and soccer as a Trojan. While at MCC Sadie plans on majoring in accounting with plans to transfer to a four-year school to earn her Bachelor's Degree.
