2018 Volleyball Schedule Released

Marshalltown, IA – After weeks of changes, Head Volleyball Coach, Justin Hoskins, has released the Marshalltown Community College schedule for the 2018 season. The Tigers have 28 dates set for competition, and host 12 matches in the Student Activity Center this fall.

"This year's schedule will challenge us in a few different ways, "stated Coach Hoskins. "In addition to our normal lineup of difficult opponents, we also face some long stretches of road matches that will test our maturity and ability to play consistent volleyball. I'm looking forward to seeing how our young team responds to the opportunities we have this year."

The 2018 season starts with a weeklong trip out to North Carolina where they are scheduled to take on Central Carolina Community College, USC Salkahatchie, Richard Bland Community College, Sand Hills Community College, and Fayetville Technical Community College from August 22 through the 25th. The Tigers will get back in Marshalltown to host the junior varsity squad from William Penn University on August 29, and then travel to Des Moines for an August 30 showdown with Grand View University JV.

Entering September, the Tigers will host Southwestern Community College in the Student Activity Center on the fourth, then travel to Waterloo, IA to take on the Red Tails of Hawkeye Community College on September 7. The Tigers will host Iowa Lakes Community College on September 10 and then host conference rival Iowa Western Community College on September 12. The following day the team will travel to Kishwaukee College for a 6:00 PM showdown. September 15th the team will compete in a triangular at Southeast Community College and do the same at North Iowa Area Community College on September 16. The Tigers will travel to Iowa Falls, IA on September 20 for an Iowa Valley showdown with Ellsworth Community College and then travel to John Wood Community College on September 21. The Tigers will travel to Southeastern Community College for four matches in their tournament on September 23 and take on conference foe Indian Hills on the road on September 26. The next weekend they head back to Southeastern for their second tournament of the season on September 30.

October begins with two matches at North Iowa Area Community College on the sixth and then take on conference rival, Iowa Western Community College, on the ninth. After a month on the road, the tigers get back to the Student Activity Center and host a triangular with Central College and Southeast Community College on October 13. The Warriors of Indian Hills Community College make the trip to Marshalltown on October 16 for a conference matchup before the Tigers travel to Estherville, IA on the 18th to take on the Lakers of Iowa Lakes Community College. On October 20, the Tigers will again host a triangular, taking on Grand View JV and Hawkeye Community College. The second Iowa Valley showdown will take place on October 22 when the Panthers of Ellsworth Community College come to Marshalltown for a 7:00 match. The Tigers will close out October with a road match at Dakota County Technical College on the 23 and then cap off the regular season with a home match against John Wood Community College on the October 26. The Tigers will enter post-season play on November 2 with the start of the Region IX Tournament. With a successful tournament, the Tigers would head to the National Tournament from November 15-17.
