Undefeated in the Carolinas

Fayetteville, NC – The Tigers finished off their fall trip a perfect 5-0 after defeating Fayetteville Technical Community College in straight sets on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers started the week by sweeping Central Carolina Community College on Wednesday and the University of South Caroline Salkehatchie on Thursday. Friday was more of the same, but this time Richard Bland College and Sandhills Community College each took a set, forcing the young Tiger team to regroup and make adjustments for the first time. Saturday's final match in the Carolinas proved the team is ready to take on the tough Iowa Community College Athletic Conference, sweeping the Trojans 25-12, 25-11, 25-13.

A fairly balanced attach for the Tigers so far this season, one player has not stuck out over the rest, instead everyone on the team has contributed evenly. In Saturday's match, Marjia Ejic led the team in kills, recording 8 on 11 total attacks. Jelena Dukic may be the best setter in the conference this season, recording 22 assists against Fayetteville and 142 so far this season.

The Tigers will get a few days off, playing the JV unit of William Penn University on Wednesday, August 29 in the Student Activity Center on the Marshalltown Community College campus. Last season, the Tigers defeated William Penn's JV twice, once 3-1 and the other 3-2. For more information on the MCC volleyball team, follow @mccvb_tigers on twitter.
