Marshalltown, IA – The MCC volleyball team played host to the #2 Reivers of Iowa Western Community College on Wednesday night in the Student Activity Center. The Tigers have seen their share of success in the early part of the 2018 season, going 9-1 in their first 10 matches, but the national powerhouse showed the team has a few areas where they can improve. The Reivers, swept the Tigers 25-19, 25-13, 25-15.
The Tigers were limited on offense Wednesday night, freshmen Chiara Mottola and Marija Egic led the way with 8 and 7 kills respectively. Sophomore leader, Jelena Dukic, led the team in assists with 19. Hallee Pedro earned the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week with her 24 digs, Wednesday night Pedro led the team with 15.
The Tigers will not have to dwell on the night for long. Thursday, September 13 the team travels to DeKalb County, Illinois to take on Kishwaukee College. For more information on the MCC volleyball team, follow @tigervb_mcc on twitter.
