Marshalltown Community College (MCC) Athletic Director, Dr. Kathleen Brown, has announced the hiring of Mike Jones as the Head Athletic Trainer for MCC athletics. Jones comes to Marshalltown after the department selected Select Physical Therapy to supply its athletic training needs. Jones has been employed by Select Physical Therapy since 2017.

“I look forward to the opportunity to work with a diverse group of college students and assist them in any way I can,” stated Jones. “Working at the college level has been a goal of mine and I can’t wait to get started and take this next step in my career here at MCC.”

Jones is a 2011 graduate of Coe College where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Athletic Training before getting his Masters Degree in Occupational Safety at Waldorf College in 2013. He spent four years working with Athletico Physical Therapy, working with Central Springs High School from 2013-2015, and Forrest City High School from 2015-2017. During that time, he also worked with the North Iowa Bulls hockey team, winning two NA3HL National Titles. Jones them moved and spent the 217-2018 school year working with the Meskwaki Settlement School.

Jones started at MCC on August 1 and lives with his wife Megan in Grinnell, Iowa.
