Iowa Falls, IA—The Marshalltown Community College men's basketball team hung on for an 84-78 victory over Ellsworth Community College on the road Monday night. The Tigers are now 18-11 on the year.
MCC led 44-28 at halftime, but the Panthers fought back late in the second half. The Tigers' lead was cut to eight, 73-65 with 5:10 to play, and Ellsworth managed to bring the game within two, 78-76 with just over a minute left.
The Tigers scored six straight to pull away and hold on for the cross-division Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) win.
MCC will wrap up the 2014-15 regular season with a home conference matchup against Northeast Community College on Saturday at 7:00 PM. The MCC women will take on the Hawks at 5:00 PM.
