After twelve days between games, the Tigers were back on the court for a matchup with John Wood Community College out of Quincy, IL.

It was a slow start for the Tigers in front of the home crowd. Just three minutes into the game, the Trail Blazers of John Wood had built an early 7-0 lead. However, by the end of the first quarter, the Tigers had clawed their way back into the game and had pulled to within four points.

The second quarter saw both teams struggle to score. During the quarter, the Tigers shot just 25% from the field. However, John Wood shot even worse at 23.1%. During the quarter, the Trail Blazers still managed to outscore the Tigers 9-8.

Trailing by five at halftime, the Tigers looked to make a push in the third quarter. However, that push would have to wait until the fourth quarter as the Trail Blazers outscored the Tigers by four in the third to extend their lead to nine points entering the fourth quarter.

Down by nine and on a nine game losing streak, it would have been easy for the home team to fold. But instead the Tigers showed some great resilience and flashed an ability to score which has rarely been seen this year. The Tigers shot 54.5% from the field in the fourth.

The quarter got off to a strong start for the Tigers as Carla Collado hit a three-point shot. Just halfway through the quarter, the Tigers pulled within one at 43-42 after a jumper by Collado. After two John Wood free-throws, the Tigers tied the game up for the first time with a shot from deep by Dana Stokes.

The last 4:40 of the quarter featured back and forth action until Clara Solsona was fouled with just three seconds left to play. Going to the line down by one, the freshman guard missed her first attempt badly. However, she would make her second attempt to tie the game a 53. After advancing the ball following a timeout, the Trail Blazers failed to get a shot off in the final possession of regulation.

Unfortunately, the Tigers seemed to run out of gas in the overtime period. The Trail Blazers scored first in overtime and would never trail. Despite a last minute run by the Tigers, the visiting team escaped with a 65-61 road win.

Freshman Clara Solsona paced the Tigers with 19 points while Chelsea Wood led all scorers with 24. For the Tigers, it was Dana Stokes who led the team with ten rebounds and Laurin Lyons led the team with six assists.
